Day 32

My Child and I Are a Team

Tip

As a team, my child and I solve problems together. Keeping communication strong between you and your growing child will help both of you navigate their school experience even beyond kindergarten. As your child’s first teacher you have set them up for success! Learn from your child, listen to your child, and meet them where they are as they grow and change in their kindergarten year.

Tool

5 Engaging Questions to Discover Your Child’s Thinking – Here are five engaging questions that will help your child think and talk about their experiences as they explore.

Watch the “I Can Count on You” song for parent and child to sing together.

Community Connection

The Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum (The HOF) offers an audio tour that is perfect for children and parents to navigate together.

Find the numbers (1-42) posted on the walls, press that number on the handheld audio guide, and then listen to learn all about Bluegrass music!

Admission to the museum is free for children ages 5 and under. The HOF is partnering with OK Go! to offer a discounted rate of $10 for adults.

The HOF is located downtown at 311 W 2nd Street. Come for a visit before August 8 – Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. – closed Mondays.
