Day 20

Praise effort, not only completion

Tip

Praise the progress your child makes as they try something new. Praising the effort takes the pressure off of you as a parent and off of your child to “get it right”.

Let them know when they are on the right track. This will help build their confidence and support them in completing new tasks.

Tool

Community Connection

Speaking of effort not completion – you are halfway through the OK Go! Campaign. Congrats!

If you visit Waymond Morris Park, you will see posters hanging on the fence outside the football complex. Each poster illustrates a gross motor your child will need to practice for kindergarten. See how many they can do now and then come back before August 9th to see how much they have improved.

This OK Go! activity is provided by Owensboro Daviess County (ODC) Youth Sports.
